What does our MELAB Listening Course include?
Our MELAB Listening Practice Course prepares students for the listening portion of the MELAB test. Our MELAB Listening Course contains exercises of each of the five types indicated above. Our MELAB Listening Course is divided into 12 units, and in total it has 60 question and response exercises, 60 statements, 60 conversations, 60 emphasis statements, and 30 questions on lectures and short talks.

When your payment for our MELAB listening course has been processed, you will receive our MELAB Listening Course e-book (with answers and listening texts) by email. You will also be given details about how to open a secure webpage that contains all of our MELAB Listening Course sound files.
To listen to the sound files on your computer system, your computer must be able to play sound. In other words, your computer must have a sound card, headphones or speakers, and media software such as Windows Media Player. However, the sound files are in mp3 format and can be copied to an mp3 player. Note that the listening course e-book is approximately 52 pages long.
How long is the MELAB Listening test?
The Listening Test on the MELAB usually lasts 40 to 45 minutes.
What is included on the MELAB Listening Test?
The listening section of the MELAB test consists of 50 multiple choice questions which the student will hear only once. The following five types of questions are used on the listening portion of the MELAB test:
TYPE 1: For type 1 questions, the candidate chooses the most reasonable answer to the question given on the cassette.
TYPE 2: For type 2 questions, the candidate chooses the statement which has the same meaning as the speaker's statement.
TYPE 3: For type 3 questions, the candidate chooses the statement which best explains the two-line dialogue given on the cassette.
TYPE 4: For type 4 questions, the candidate must choose what the speaker means. In other words, type 4 questions on the MELAB listening test are the emphasis type of questions.
TYPE 5: For type 5 questions, the candidate answers questions on short talks that are approximately three minutes long.
